As mentioned before, Antwerp has been very
prominent in diamond cutting for five hundred years the
first written mention of diamond cutting is in
Antwerp in 1550. This is where Hugo Courtois
a Master Diamond Cutter, began the tradition
of four generations in diamond cutting. Because
of his extraordinary talent, his advice was often sought
after by colleagues when larger, more rare and difficult
stones were being cut. His great grandson Erik was
the visionary that first introduced the Eternity Diamond
to the Belgian market.
